En la noche del 31 de Diciembre 1952 al 1 de Enero 1953 Hank Williams murió en el asiento trasero de su nuevo baby-blue Cadillac camino a Canton, Ohio, para ofrecer un concierto de Año Nuevo. En Oak Hill, Virginia, el conductor se dio cuenta que Hank yacía muerto. En el lugar del concierto, al anunciar la suspensión del concierto por el fallecimiento de Hank Williams, el público no daba crédito hasta que Hawkshaw Hawkins y otros artistas entonaron “I Saw The Light” en tributo hacia Williams. Hank tenía 29 años.

On December 31, 1952 Hank Williams died in the backseat of his brand-new, baby-blue Cadillac on his way to Canton, Ohio to perform on a New Eve´s Concert. In Oak Hill, Virginia, the chouffeur realised Hank was died. When they told the audience about that, they didn´t believe it until Hawkshaw Hawkins and other artist started performing "I Saw The Light" as tribute to Hank Williams. Hank was 29.
