Entrevista a ´Mr. Personality´, el mundialmente conocido Lloyd Price, cantante de Rhythm and Blues, Price escribió "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" en 1952, canción que ha sido grabada en 169 ocasiones por diferentes iconos musicales, incluido Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Little Richard, Mimi Hendrix, Fats Domino, Travis Tritt y James Brown, inducido al Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 1998 y al Louisiana Hall of Fame en 2010

Muchas gracias, Lloyd por esta oportunidad para entrevistarle unos minutos. Sé que está muy ocupado últimamente. ¿Qué estilo de música le gustaba cuando era adolescente? Lloyd Price: Me encantaba Louis Jordan, era único... 

Lloyd, he leído que cantaba en el coro de la iglesia, pero ¿cuándo empezó a cantar R&B y por qué? 

Lloyd Price: Bueno, no fue así realmente, nunca canté en la iglesia, cuando era un niño, en New Orleans, un día escuché al primer DJ de color, él estuvo en el aire durante media hora para Maxwell Hourse Coffee y solía pinchar Lawdy Miss Clawdy, esa fue mi primera canción, no en la iglesia. 

¿Por qué Dick Clark consideraba ´Stager Lee´ tan ofensiva?­­ 

Lloyd Price: Buena pregunta. No lo sé... decía que era muy fuerte... 

¿Disfrutaba al estar de gira por Europa en los años 90? 

Lloyd Price: Si, adoro Europa

Interview with ´Mr. Personality´, the World famous R&B singer, Price first wrote "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" in 1952, the song has been re-recorded 169 times by different music icons, including Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Little Richard, Mimi Hendrix, Fats Domino, Travis Tritt, and James Brown, Price was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and The Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2010, Mr. Lloyd Price­­

Thank you for this opportunity to interview you for a little while. I know you have been very busy lately. What music did you like most when you where a teenager, Lloyd?­­ Lloyd Price: I loved Louis Jordan he was the man... 

Lloyd, I have read that you sang in your church´s gospel choir, but, when did you start singing R&B and why?­­ 

Lloyd Price: Well, not really, I never sang in church. as a kid in New Orleans..one day I was listen to the first black DJ. he was on the air for a half hour for Maxwell House Coffee and he used as a hook, lawdy miss clawdy. That was my first song,no church..

Why did Dick Clark consider ´Stager Lee´so offensive?­­ 

Lloyd Price: Good question. I dont know.. he said the shooting was too hard...

Have you enjoyed your tours around Europe in the 90´s? 

Lloyd Price: Yes I love Europe 

The Broadway Musical ´Lawdy Miss Clawdy´, will it tour Europe?­­ 

Lloyd Price: Lawdy Miss Clawdy, the musical will happen next year.
